Our beagle/basset mix Foster – we call him our “Bagel”, corny, I know – is one of the smartest dogs I have ever known. He also lives life with total abandon: when he is upset he is devastated, when he is happy he bounces off the walls, when he is sick he is the most pathetic dog *ever*, and when he plays in the snow….. he is *Superdog* – flying and leaping tall buildings.
